Whether you are someone working from home or as part of an established website design service company, you will be able to apply these steps. Without waste any more time here are the steps.

  1. There are various ways to do this. One of the most common way is to install it using something called Fantastico that provided by most hosting companies. You would have to login to the Cpanel first. This will take about 3 minutes and is the simplest and easiest way of installing Joomla.
  2. After installing Joomla you can login to the Joomla Admin section or control panel. The directory is called administrator and is located in the root folder. You need enter your website’s domain and then the administrator folder name to access it. Once you are in the admin section, select the "Site" tab on left and click on the "Global Configuration" link. Follow the instructions to configure your website.
  3. The next important step is to create your content, categories and content pages. The content sections are the like the divisions of your Joomla site; the categories are the sub-divisions for each section; the content items, pages or articles are the pieces of content that are placed under each category. It’s built this way because the content will be organized better and easier to find. The system allows you to add as many content sections, categories or content pages as you want.
  4. The menu navigation system is divided into categories. You may have a menu category for your new items, another one for your news section and even another for your best items. And, under each category you will have menu items. You will have one menu item that links to your top pages, another menu item that links to your affiliate products page; and yet still another one that points to your forum or discussion group.
  5. One good reason to choose Joomla for websites is that you can customize it. So you can modify the template and rearrange the modules in any way you want to make your site more unique. You can use an redesigned template as a starting point and modify it according to your needs.
